Where can I teach with this qualification?
Our alumni teach Mat Pilates across a wide range of settings, from gyms and boutique Pilates studios to larger franchise studios. Many have gone on to build their own client bases, open their own studios and step into Head Trainer roles, both across Australia and internationally.
Why should I choose the Bodylove Academy Mat Course?
At Bodylove Academy, you’re never just a number. Your learning doesn’t start and end with your in-person coursework. We see ourselves as your first colleagues and your support system as you build your career.
From the moment you start your course through to teaching confidently in the industry, you’ll have a community around you. Alongside that support, you’ll learn a comprehensive method built on depth, intentionality and knowledge-first teaching. It is important to us that you understand not just what you’re teaching, but why.
How do I know if the Mat Course is right for me?
If you’re not sure whether Mat training is the right next step for you, we’re here to help. Start by downloading our Academy Handbook to get a feel for the course, our approach and what to expect.
You can also book a call with our Academy Director to talk through your goals, experience and what you’re looking for from your training.
And if you’d like to experience the Bodylove approach before committing, come along to one of our upcoming Masterclasses. Throughout the year, we open selected Masterclasses to our alumni community, giving you the opportunity to experience our educators and approach first-hand.
Does this course include Pre & Post Natal Training?
Yes. Our Mat Course includes dedicated Pre & Post Natal training with Bodylove founder and Pre & Post Natal Pilates expert, Ali Handley. Through focused workshops, you’ll learn how to create intentional programming that supports your clients through the different stages of their journey.
How do I get Early Bird Pricing?
Early Bird pricing, plus a complimentary month of Bodylove Studios membership, is available on every course until one month before the course commences, while spots last. Simply enrol before the Early Bird deadline to secure both.
How do I set up a Payment Plan?
Payment plans are available on the full-price rate of all our courses. To find a payment plan that suits you, simply get in touch with our Academy team through our enquiry page.
Is Anatomy included in the Mat Course?
Yes. Our full Anatomy Course Suite is included in your Mat Course purchase. This includes our online Anatomy Course, Anatomy Workbook and a full in-person Anatomy Day.
You can choose the Anatomy Day that suits you best from our available dates in the lead-up to your Mat Course.
Can I do my hours at Bodylove Pilates Studios?
Absolutely. You can complete all of your observation, participation and practice teaching hours at Bodylove Pilates Studios - although you’re not required to.
We want completing your hours to be as accessible as possible, so you’re welcome to practise and observe wherever works best for you. If you choose to complete them at Bodylove, you can access our studios and book space for your practice teaching at no additional cost.
How long does it take to complete the Mat qualification?
The Mat Course itself is completed over 9 days, with the exact schedule depending on whether you choose our Intensive or Part-Time format.
The overall time it takes to complete your qualification will vary depending on how much time you have to commit to your required hours.
What is the difference between observation and participation hours?
Observation hours are about developing your teaching eye. You’ll watch a variety of instructors and clients, learning to observe movement, pick up teaching skills and understand how different instructors approach a class.
Participation hours are about developing your own practice. By taking classes yourself, you’ll deepen your understanding of the exercises, the Pilates method and how the movement feels in your own body.
Do you offer combined Mat and Reformer courses?
No. At Bodylove Academy, each course is designed to give you the time, knowledge and hands-on experience to properly understand the method and develop your teaching skills of each style.
Our course calendar is designed so you can move from one qualification into the next, while keeping the content of each course completely separate.
If you’re looking to complete Mat and Reformer consecutively, payment plans are available on the Early Bird price for both courses.
