Why should I choose the Bodylove Academy Reformer Course?
At Bodylove Academy, we believe learning Reformer is about much more than memorising a repertoire. You’ll learn the method, understand the purpose behind the movements and develop the skills to create intentional, well-structured classes.
Our training combines anatomy, repertoire, programming, modifications and hands-on learning with real opportunities to teach. You can complete your practice teaching hours on the Reformer in our studios at no extra cost, giving you the space to build your confidence, refine your cueing and put your learning into practice in a real studio environment.
And your support doesn’t end when the course does. You’ll become part of a community of instructors and educators who continue to support you as you develop your teaching and build your career.
Where can I teach with this qualification?
Our Reformer alumni teach across a wide range of settings, from boutique Pilates studios and larger franchise studios to gyms and private client environments. Many go on to build their own client base, become Head Trainers and develop careers across Australia and internationally.
How do I know if the Reformer Course is right for me?
If you’re not sure whether Reformer training is the right next step for you, we’re here to help. Start by downloading our Academy Handbook to get a feel for the course, our approach and what to expect.
You can also book a call with our Academy Director to talk through your goals, experience and what you’re looking for from your training.
And if you’d like to experience the Bodylove approach before committing, come along to one of our upcoming Masterclasses. Throughout the year, we open selected Masterclasses to our alumni community, giving you the opportunity to experience our educators and approach first-hand. Reach out to find out when our next class is running.
How long does it take to complete the certificate?
The Reformer Course content itself is delivered over 9 days in either our part-time or intensive format. The overall time it takes to complete your certificate will vary depending on how much time you have to commit to your required hours.
Is Anatomy included in the Reformer Course?
Yes. Our full Anatomy Course Suite is included in your Reformer Course purchase. This includes our online Anatomy Course, Anatomy Workbook and a full in-person Anatomy Day.
You can choose the Anatomy Day that suits you best from our available dates in the lead-up to your Reformer Course.
Does this course include Pre & Post Natal Training?
Yes. Pre & Post Natal education is incorporated into our Reformer training, giving you the knowledge to understand how to thoughtfully adapt exercises and programming throughout pregnancy and the postnatal period.
Does the course cover injuries and modifications?
Yes. Understanding how to adapt movement is an important part of becoming a confident Reformer instructor. Throughout the course, you’ll explore modifications, progressions and the use of props so you can make informed decisions for different bodies and abilities.
What equipment and props will I learn to teach with?
You’ll work with a range of props and equipment, including the Jumpboard, learning how they can be used intentionally to create different movement experiences, challenges and assists.
How do I get Early Bird Pricing?
Early Bird pricing, plus a complimentary month Reformer membership at Bodylove Studios, is available on every course until one month before the course commences, while spots last. Simply enrol before the Early Bird deadline to secure both.
How do I set up a Payment Plan?
Payment plans are available on the full-price rate of all our courses. To find a payment plan that suits you, simply get in touch with our Academy team through our enquiry page.
Can I do my hours at Bodylove Pilates Studios?
Absolutely. You can complete your observation, participation and practice teaching hours at Bodylove Pilates Studios, although you’re not required to. We want completing your hours to be as accessible as possible, so you can choose where works best for you.
If you choose to complete them at Bodylove, you can access our studios and book space for your practice teaching at no additional cost.
What is the difference between observation and participation hours?
Observation hours are about developing your teaching eye. You’ll watch a variety of instructors and clients, learning to observe movement, pick up teaching skills and understand how different instructors approach a class.
Participation hours are about developing your own practice. By taking classes yourself, you’ll deepen your understanding of the exercises, the Reformer method and how the movement feels in your own body.
Can I do the Mat and Reformer courses consecutively?
Yes. While we keep our Mat and Reformer training completely separate, our course schedule is designed so you can move from one qualification into the next.
We believe there is real depth in both Mat and Reformer, so each course gives you the time and space to properly understand the method rather than trying to cover everything at once. Payment plans are available on the Early Bird price for students completing Mat and Reformer consecutively.
